Selma’s Christian Testimony

As a young person, I was taken to a Christian Science “church”. I was required to go as long as I lived at home, but thankfully, by the grace of God, I did not believe their teaching.

Years later I learned that it is a false teaching.

Even though this religion has “christian” in its name, it is not a true Christian church.

The Christian church are the followers of Jesus who embrace and obey His teachings, for He alone is the Savior of all.

The Protestant Christian Bible is the ONLY Book that contains the TRUE

revelation of God’s redemptive plan.

At the age of 19, I got married, and for the next 10 (ten) years I had no desire to go to church or to read the Bible.

Eventually, I began to have a spiritual hunger, and began attending a Christian church.

At the age of 50 I became a Christian and understood the full Gospel message.

To be a Christian means to surrender your heart and will to Jesus, and living a life of obedience to Him, as explained in the Protestant Christian Bible New Testament.

I had been married for 30 years when I became a Christian. It was not a good marriage, but I did have two sons, whom I love very much.

My former spouse was very controlling and verbally and emotionally abusive.

During the last months of our marriage he was unfaithful to me.

Two months after our divorce he remarried.

After my divorce, I had to literally start a whole new life.

I did not have a home or a job.

My last job had ended with carpal tunnel surgery, which was totally unsuccessful.

Even though I was married for 31 years, I received only a very small amount of finances from the divorce.

So, as a new Christian, I had to learn to rely on the Lord for everything.

And of course, God is faithful to supply the needs of His children when they trust in Him.

God gave me favor to be able to rent a duplex, before I even found a job, and since it was the last week of the month, the landlord gave me a week free of charge to get moved in.

Soon I found a job close by.

After a few years I was able to purchase a small house, and God opened a door for me to get a better job. On this new job, the carpal tunnel pain began flaring up again.

I was praying about it, and one Monday morning on the way to work, I said to the Lord, “you know I have to work to support myself”.

And the Holy Spirit reminded me of the words in the

Protestant Christian Bible Old Testament Book of Deuteronomy 31:6,

“He (God) will not fail thee, neither forsake thee”.

I felt such assurance from the Lord, that all fear left. At the end of my work day, I realized I had worked 10 hours with no pain!

In October 2012, at the age of 65, I met the man who is now my husband!

Missionary Norman Oetker is the love of my life, a miracle from God.

God has blessed us with a love that gets sweeter and sweeter as the days go by.

Together, we are sharing the Good News of the Gospel Message, the Way of Salvation through Jesus Christ , the only way to go to Heaven.
